Help Alarm didn't work

Had this problem this morning and was late for work!! Searched and found this thread. Reported the problem to Motorola. I travel a lot and use this in my hotels since it is better and (usually) more reliable than hotel alarm clocks and wake up calls. Hope they acknowledge the problem and fix it. I too use smart actions "Sleep".

I did change it last night to trigger only off of time and not motion since it hasn't been working well lately and I've gotten notification sounds in the middle of the night - not good when you have a 6 month old and sleep-deprived mother sleeping in the same room!

I'm on the verge of leaving it in the kitchen and buying an alarm clock.

Well, that was a lot of help.

I wish I could be of further to the group but I don't know what to do at this time. I understand ICS is being "soak tested" at this time and my understanding is that usually the test only lasts about a week or so and it will be released to the rest of the users.

Maybe ICS will fix the problem. I guess if it doesn't we have at least documented it with Gingerbread.

By the way, I turn my phone to Silent at night so I can get some sleep but need some calls and texts to get through in case of emergency. I use an app called "Auto Ring" by farproc and it works great. Hope something like that works for you too.

This has happened to me a couple of times, and it happened this morning. However- I DID notice something last night! I put it in the dock before bed, and usually when the phone goes to bedside dock mode, it shows the alarm time on the upper right corner, last night- it did NOT show my alarm time. I took it out of the dock and put it back in, and it still did not show, I pulled up my alarms and it was turned to on like usual. Sure enough- it did not go off this morning. Apparently it knew it wasn't going to turn it on also since it didn't show me the alarm time as usual

I came here looking for a solution but I'm guessing there isn't one?

This morning my alarm didn't go off. It's set to go off every weekday. I noticed that the alarm icon in the top right was not there, like it always, always is. I went to my alarms and my regular morning alarm was ticked. To get the alarm icon to re-appear I had to untick and re-tick the alarm entry.

Without the disappearance of the icon I could just blame myself for dismissing my alarm and falling back to sleep. But is it something the phone has done, or something I've done (maybe in my pocket)? How would it be possible to have your alarm entry ticked, but have no alarm icon showing?

I'm using the stock alarm on an unrooted desire (original) running 2.2.2.

Any suggestions?

Sounds very much like what happened to me  The ONLY 'fix' that I have found is making sure the night before, that when I put it in the dock, it shows right above the actual time in the right corner the alarm time. If that is NOT there, the alarm isn't going to go off- it knows in advance that it won't go off, even though the alarm checkbox is marked..... I have just become very anal about checking that every night, and if it is not there I uncheck and recheck the box and that seems to make the alarm time pop up there, and the alarm goes off as it should.
It is definately a glich in the system....

I am also having the same problem.

I do not use a dock. What I have noticed is that it happens when the screen somehow comes on overnight, but I do not know why.

Sometimes the alarm does not wake me up at all and I get that 30 minute message. Other times it will wake me up originally and I will hit snooze and sometimes it will not ring again. Most of the time it works, but I did go out and buy a new alarm clock as a backup....

I am using a Droid 4.

I turn off background sync and mobile data at night to save battery. I have not encountered this issue myself. I usually set several alarms in 15 minute intervals out if my own personal paranoia. I will add the third party app as well for the peace of mind.

The only time that my alarm did not go off is after i changed my home screens layout and forgot to put the alarm app back on the home screen...
