Alarm quirks?

Sorry if this isn't really deserving of it's own thread, but has anybody noticed strange behavior with the alarm? I've noticed I can effectively snooze with the volume rockers (I like), however only if there is another snooze 'on-deck'. If I hit the rocker or lock button if there is no snooze available, it will silence the alarm and effectively kill any future alerts (do not like). Shouldn't the only way to kill the alarm be using the screen swipe function?

If that's just the way it's going to be, what's the consensus on the best, small foot-print alarm clock on the market? I hate using 3rd party apps for functionality (that should be) built into the phone, but whatcha guys thinking?

I can't answer the first question...The alarm was actually the first stock app I replaced (going back to my first android phone, the Mytouch 3g). I use Gentle Alarm. It really is great alarm!

The great thing about Android is that you can customize it to your own choosing.I replaced everything I could, from the stock launcher to even the dial pad. I don't really use my alarm, though, but now that you mention it, I'm going to go check out a few alarm apps.
