Help Alarm

Kwacky

Lurker
Morning folks. Apologies if this has been covered but I couldn't see it on the forum.

I'm in the UK and have recently updated to 2.3.5 and HTC Sense 3.0

I use the alarm in the mornings. Since the change I can't use the snooze facility. When the alarm goes off you get the options of dismiss and snooze, but you can't hit either without first dragging the ring, which dismisses the alarm.

Is anyone else having the same problem or is the fault at the user end?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forums - thanks for joining!

I'm afraid I can't help you... I don't use HTC Sense and therefore haven't had the update. I am sure that others will be able to let you know once they see this thread.

You appear to be one of the lucky few who have had the update in the uk (currently 2 threads going of people who are saying they haven't had the update). Could you let us know who your network provider is and if your phone is carrier branded or unbranded?

Cheers!!

Hi DURX

I'm with Vodafone.

Forgive my ignorance but branded and unbranded? When I switch the phone on I get the Vodafone emblem. Is that what you mean? The phone doesn't have any physical branding on it.

I was offered the update last Sunday (11th Dec).

It's unrooted as well if that helps.

Hi again Kwacky!

Thanks for the info... don't worry... it's not ignorance... by branded, I meant does it have carrier stuff on it... your's is, as it has a start up screen with Vodafone on it.

Your info regarding the fact that you have had the upgrade will be of help/good info for the (many) others who are currently awaiting the update.

I hope that someone is able to chime in with a response to your alarm issue!

I guess the issues will come to light as more people get the update.

I'll come up with a bad pun once I've got a few more posts under my belt :)

I think that I can help here being a Sense 3.0 veteran of over a week.

When the alarm goes off, don't drag the ring up the screen but drag the snooze button into the ring. This performs the operation and is confirmed by a notification message. It's exactly the same as when you need to activate a shortcut from the lockscreen, you drag the icon into the ring.

I hope this makes sense (if you'll pardon the pun) as I've just checked it on my phone. I don't need an alarm clock, my 2 year old daughter makes sure of that.

Thanks Silver Surfer, I'll give that a go.

I know what you mean about the kids, my first refused to sleep in the mornings and I ended up with a full head of grey hair :D
