I recently looked into my running service because my battery was dropping very quickly (~5-10% per hour). I noticed a service from the market was running, "AlarmService". Its been running in the background all day. I went into the market this morning and I think that may have been what caused it to start. I stopped it, and so far the battery problem SEEMS to be fixed. Does anyone know what this is? I did a google search, but nobody seems to know what it is, or why its running. I've read guesses about it being the part of the market that checks for new updates, but I was curious to see if any of you guys knew what it was.
