Help "Alert" Message on EVO 4G

Recently, when I access my email I get an Alert message that says "There is not enough free space. Please delete some messages and try again". I have no (0) email messages, no text messages, no photos. My SD card says that I have 4.11GB available and my internal phone storage says that I have 193MB available. My emails are not downloading into my phone and the ones that do download are not coming in with the attachments. My email receiving mail size limit is set to "No Limit". I cannot figure out what else to check and I really do not want to do a hard reset. Can anyone help???

Did you try deleting the account from your phone then clearing the cache and force closing the email app? What email service do you use?
