Help All my memory's disappeared!

My phone has 2GB internal memory. The apps (downloaded and preinstalled) add up to <200MB per the apps list. In the last couple days available on-phone memory dropped to 25MB. To free up space I uninstalled unused apps, moved all the apps I could to the SD, cleared caches, deleted old texts. Now memory is down to 18MB and I'm getting messages that there's not enough space to receive texts or install apps. What the heck's happening???

The link gave me some ideas, but I'd like to avoid doing a hard reset and losing all my data until I absolutely have to.

I installed system panel to get a better idea of what was going on. What's weird here is that syspanel says I have 135MB available, while the phone's "sd card and phone storage" page says 38. mmmk?

Also checked the Virgin mobile description page again. The internal storage is 2gb.

Well, if you are not rooted, a factory reset is probably all you can do to fix it if the issue is those alog files.

Gonna attempt the root, but just wondering if I've got enough room to actually pull it off (it can be run from the SD card, right?)

You have to install, which is going to mean its going to be in internal storage... (talking about gingerbreak right?)

How u delete all the alog files and is it safe???
You have to be rooted and have a file explorer of some sort that has root access (ES File Explorer, Root Explorer).

It is fine to delete them, just make sure you are not deleting other things if you don't know what they are. Read through all that other thread. Yes it is long :(, but it has all the info you need for this.
