All-screen pop up in Galaxy Tab

I've regularly been seeng an all-screen pop up in only my Tab here at AF. My Droid 3 does not elicit the pop up, nor does my laptop or PC.

I have the settings in the Tab to block pop ups.

The pop up ad is unfinished, so I don't know what the product is. It has an "x" in the upper right corner, but scrolling the cursor up to that x causes the pop up to quickly slide to the far right, placing the x out of site.

Very clever gimmick.

Has anybody else seen this?

Yes, I've seen the same dag-blasted ad on my Tab as well. VERY annoying! I don't use it to browse here often, but I'd guess I see it about once every 1-2 weeks.

I'll try another browser for coming here on my Tab, frustrating as that is (I like Dolphin HD very much).

Perhaps it's browser related. Are you using DHD?

Edit: Now I'm getting reports from co-worker seeing that ad from other phone users and an iPad user.

I never visited Androidforums.com on my phone before using the browser, but tried it and got the popup your talking about as soon as I tried to log in. I'm using the stock 2.2.2 browser with block popups checked.
I thought Premium users were suppose to get less ads? Never really noticed them before on my PC, Ad Muncher is a pretty nice program I have used for years so I just kind of take not seeing ads for granted I guess.

This is all a good reason to use the Phandroid App, I gather. That's fine, but Staff work is pared down to near nothing in that app.. thus the browser use on devices when I'm away from my laptop or PC (been carrying my laptop just about everywhere I go for about two years now and I'd been hoping the Tab would relieve me of that).

Oh, I think I know what you're talking about. THIS IS NOT AN AD! It's a popup if you're browsing AF/Phandroid on the phone/tab telling you that we have an app for easy viewing.

This was the solution:

I have made some changes to the algorithm used to determine when to show phandroid app suggestion popup. It is live on the sites now, you should not see the popup more than every 30 days (or until cookies are cleared).

If this algorithm works out and we don't get any major bug reports, i can add some logic to deal when someone clicks on [OK].

So if you clear your cookies daily, you'll see the popup more often.

Great info, Roze. But in my Galaxy Tab the screen is non-navigable when that pop up appears.. moving it one way or the other merely causes it to snap back ("x" out of site, off screen).. clicking it brings up a blank video-like screen, frozen.

Had trouble with the screen capture but did snap a picture of it, last night when I got it it was just a gray box but this time it had a ad (that just happened to be for the Tab) in it. As you can see there is no way to close it out.
