All Things Froyo

The push pin represents the insertion point for new text. This means if you want to edit a word or letter, you can easily drag the push pin to where you want it... which is way easier than before, requiring that your big fat finger has to locate an almost impossibly teenie tiny target. If you tap the push pin, you switch to highlight mode at which point dragging the push pin highlights the text for deletion or copying.

Now that 2.2 has officially landed I'm having a hard time keeping up with all the posts. I would like to keep the Captivate FAQ updated as best as possible as people flood to get 2.2 installed. So if those of you who have succeeded can please PM me with any specific instructions, tips, tricks, etc that you think should be added to the 2.2 page at CapFAQ I'd really appreciate it. I'd especially be interested in oddball situations, like 64-bit Windows issues, techniques for Mac users, etc.

Thanks

What keyboard are you using? I am using the Samsung keyboard which seems to have those features (in the tutorial) but I don't see that push pin!

I think it showed up for me when I pressed in the text box to move my cursor.

I updated to stock Froyo this morning. Now when I get a new exchange email the notification icons that appears, is the voice mail notification icon

Gave the GPS a workout today and have to say it's massively improved. I ran MyTracks while I drove around and it actually shows me as on the correct path, before it was a wild zig zag through houses, fields in lakes pointed somewhat in the direction I was actually going. Navigation worked as well, it never placed me on the wrong street and gave funky directions.

Overall 100% pleased with this update. Phone is faster, has more features and what was broken now works!

I have pictures from my tracks to show the improvement, both are the exact same route. I took pictures of two spots that had the most noticeable difference.

Now the phone had trouble with the spot both before and after Froyo, but still there is a MASSIVE improvement.
