Alldroid gone?

Haha, this place has been around longer then any other decent forum and has over 100k members. The drama and bs from other forums will not happen here, unless the starters want to visit the tropical island banlandia.
 
I thought this site was very against posting/hosting unofficial software. I received points for it just by pointing to something that was on another site (just as phandroid did)... then the person that posted right below me put the same link and didn't get an infraction.

So not sure if that stuff from alldroid is allowed here or better off-site.
 
The early days of rooting was a sticky situation here, things have become more lax since then. Sorry for the infractions early on Howie.

this is really annoying. i dont understand why people get so bothered by flamers and other $h!t heads...
 
Gahh, the grammar in the Alldroid closing statement is hideous. Someone is addicted to the word "nor" and forgot how to use its friend "neither." Glad to have Pete coming here. His ROMs are the reason I root.
 
Just signed up. I was over at Alldroid, but didnt ever really see any problems. I kept mostly to myself and the BB forums where Pete posted. Hopefully we can put this craziness behind us and get moving forward. If Pete finds a home here, all the better for the users!

I'm working on getting Pete here harder than you can imagine..

I can tell you from where we stand now, Pete will be moving his operations to Android Forums. The details are still being worked out and I will know more tomorrow when Rob and Phases return.

Anyways, welcome to the new members! I can promise you that crap like that doesn't happen here.

I can't say I'm surprised about the situation at AllDroid. I have been a member there as long as I have been one here. Here I have found a great group of people that are willing to help when possible and there are very few issues in this forum (respectively that is). There I have a couple of posts...and always left after grabbing whatever files I needed!

My hope is that the members of the site formerly known as AllDroid find a home here...the best Android Forum! Hopefully idiots that cause controversy will realize that this isn't the place...The community here won't put up with that crap!

Also, I've noticed from all the forums that I have been on (ranging from gaming to things such as Android) that this forum is the most mature. We don't have little trolls running around, and flaming is not taken here. Everybody is helpful and people who start cursing and raging are usually shunned or ignored, calming down the flame. Hopefully the influx of people coming won't change this level of maturity so these forums can be the haven for both Android noobies as well as Developers.

*NOTE TO MODERATORS/ADMINISTRATORS!!!
Being a former forum owner, if Pete decides to come in, you guys seriously need to restructure these forums (At least the Droid part).

What I suggest is that you guys keep the main Motorola Droid section and then split up the "All Things Root" into ROMS/Development and Inside that add Pete, and any other developer that wants to come (Pretty sure if Pete comes, someone else will too). And inside that Roms/Development you can have people add modified things such as NexBeast, etc. I know this might be sort of a ripoff from other forums but it does its job of basically dividing things up. And one key note that I suggest is that you COMBINE the how to and tips and the Support sections, as you find questions in both. Also, I see that those sections do not get much use, so what I also suggest is that you guys get more 1 section moderators who can actively move threads into this section. This will encourage users/starters to post in the correct section and remove the spam from the main motorola Droid section. They can also say things like "This post belongs in the BLA section, posted moved". I've seen forums like that and it becomes very organized (also brings the trolls to go like "zomg noob wrong section" ballala but you can always warn those users!

Haha, sorry for the rant. Just want to see some organization implemented (even though these forums are highly organized in the first place)!
 
Yea, even though this is a vBulletin based forum, it doesn't quite feel like one compared to the others i've been on. that's not necessarily a bad thing, but i do agree subforum organization could use overhaul.

Trust me, all of that is in the works. We're just waiting for approval from Roberto.
