Hi

Im brand new to the smartphone scene but wanted to know if I should be paying better attention or be concerned by the access some of the dowloaded games have to my phone. Is there a risk of viruses or someone gaining access to potentially sensitive information?

thanks

Gadgie

Nah, you should be alright, I doubt Google would allow them kind off apps and for apps to access your sensitive information.

Google does NOT control or moderate what apps go on the android market or not. It's different from the IOS Appstore.

Every app can possibly acces all of you're information IF you let it. Everytime you install an application it asks for you're permission to acces certain information, so it's up to you to review and allow or disallaw it.

You should be fine with viruses, but every app you download could potentially acces sensitive information.

here is something to read How Can I Tell If an Android App Is Malware?

Reading the reviews and comments on the android market can also help to decide what app is safe

As stated Google does not check out ever app before they are available on the marketplace. They have been quite good at pulling 'evil' apps quite quickly once the complaints start coming in.
