Root Ally kernel cifs support?

A quick question for anyone on here, as I can't seem to find the answer on my own. Does the latest kernel in velocity v1.1 have cifs support? I've been using cifs manager from xda on my nookcolor for awhile now to connect up to my networked hdd at home. It works perfectly on the nook running cm7, however the same settings always fail on my ally.

Just curious if its something im doing wrong, or if our kernel is missing the necessary functionality.
