I am having sporadic problems with my Ally touchscreen not working. There's no rhyme or reason to it, sometimes pulling the battery will restore proper operation, other times I just have to let it sit for a while and it's back later.
I assume this is probably due to damage to the device, I have dropped it a number of times. But, is there any other possible explanation other than damage? I saw a few others threads with touchscreen outages.
If I can't get this fixed, anyone got a used Ally in good condition they want to unload? I went in the store today and they said I was eligible for an early upgrade for $20, but the phones were crazy expensive, including $157 for an Ally(!!) with a new 2 year contract. I can't afford their prices right now.

If you are an adventuresome soul, have good mechanical skills with tiny parts, and the tools to work on them, you might look into seeing if a connector got dislodged inside the Ally from being dropped. I had that happen to the SD card a couple times from the impact force of skittering across the floor. I have seen some websites detailing the disassembly of the Ally so you should be able to find instructions telling how to open it up.
