Root Ally with 2.2.2

So, I am not sure if this is something that everyone has seen, or if anyone has seen it at all, because i've looked and looked and looked here on the forums and have seen nothing of this. The system update that our phones have been bugging us about or at least bugging me about for the longest time finally got to me so I went ahead and clicked install and update, which I would normally not do because I am running Velocity 1.1, and know that normally that would not work. So I let it download and install, and then it rebooted after like 30 minutes and when it came back up nothing looked different, so I went to the Terminal Emulator, and updated my velocity scripts, and have noticed that i haven't had to use a task killer and have noticed that it is very quick(granted i am OC'd to 806mhz before/after) but it is faster than before that update and it even says i am running Android 2.2.2...anyone seeing this or am I crazy?

Placebo effect. It could be due to not using a task killer. I've heard they can actually slow things down.

No, you are probably not crazy. But that update did not (can not) actually install, and the 2.2.2 is part of the last script update...though we are not actually running 2.2.2. Just a neat feature to stop the update notifications.

what they said, the update didn't install, the velocity script stopped the notification

I updated the build #, build date, release keys and fingerprint this should be enough to convince the system its 2.2.2 as far as the OTAs and the Android Market are concerned
