Alternative Car Audio +

Hello all,

New Optimus V and Android User. Obviously my first smart phone. Long time Virgin customer and cell phone user. I am grandfathered in on the $25 plan. Thought it was finally time to take advantage of it.

Looking for something that will play the audio from the phone through either a bluetooth speakerphone or the car's audio speakers. I especially am having trouble hearing the GPS Navigation lady speaking the directions. Also, can I change to a more realistic sounding voice for navigation?

Other wants:

- Something that interrupted the car radio for the audio of phone calls would also be nice.

-Can you buy a longer lasting battery?

-Suggestions for a convenient holder for the phone in the car would also be appreciated.

I plug into the earphone jack of the Optimus one of those old-fashioned cassette player adapters and it works fine in my car stereo system. I have the same issue with the navigation voice not being loud enough.

What are the capabilities of your car stereo? Bluetooth ready? Does it have an audio input port of any kind, possibly on the back?

Also, Install BTmono from the market, to hear mp3's thru your Bluetooth device...

Thank you all for your replies. I have the standard am/fm car stereo cassette deck that came with the car with a 6 disc cd changer plugged up in the trunk of my 96 Honda Accord. I am planning on selling the car in the next couple of months and upgrading to something much newer and most likely more technologically advanced. Any additional suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
