Root Alternative Stock Messaging App

From time to time I come across what looks like a different version of the Stock Messaging app. I think to myself.. why oh why does my stock messaging app NOT look like this? I'm not absolutely sure what it is but I've tried several ways to try to get this version of the Stock Messaging app.

Do any of you know where this is from? I can't seem to put my finger on it. Seems to be related to HTC's but not entirely sure.

Is there anyway to get this version of the stock messaging app on our Samsung Prevails?

BTW no it's not ChompSMS. That's just the default text you get when you first install ChompSMS. The author of the pic just used it to demonstrate his default stock messaging app. Like I said I've seen this several times over the web.

I think the Droid X/ Epic 4g uses a messaging app like that. Not sure which one, I get confused lol

I like the simplicity of the Stock messaging app and not the bloatware that is most of the SMS apps out there. Especially GoSMS. If I can figure out how to get this version of the stock messaging app I'd be happy.

other phones stock Mms.apk's wont work with our phone without alot of work. they are linked to OS

That's a real shame. I think I have it pinpointed. This seems to be the version of the stock messaging app that comes with the HTC androids. What makes it different then the rest is the fact that it actually uses bubbles instead of the traditional conversation bars.

my wife's verizon phone does that. it also has a puzzle piece lockscreen that i would LOVE to have on my phone. i would walk a mile barefoot to get that lockscreen on my phone, i love it so much.
