Help Alternative to Lock Button?

Hi, Just switched over to the Sensation from the Iphone...Great in most respects, however i find it cumbersome to wake the phone using the lock button, especially when i'm carrying something and it must be done one-handed.
I was hoping there was something similar to the home button on the iphone, where i can wake the phone with a different grip that is more manageable.

Also, is there a way to delete specific individual text messages within a conversation without deleting the whole conversation? Would i need a different messaging app for this?
Thanks.

Your only option is to down load one of the many lock widget apps on the market and place it on your home screen. As you can see there are no buttons on the phone besides power and volume.

im pretty sure the lock button is required to unlock at all times,i too dislike this because it is kinda a pain. Regarding the text message question.im using the message widget where the texts overlap in 3d boxes behind eachother.im new to android coming from a 9700 but i noticed that if you wanna delete a single message and not the thread under this widget, all you do is simply hit the trash icon under the open 3d text box and that deletes the most recent.then when you hit the menu icon under the widget it opens up the message folder then you can hit delete and it gives u the option to check/uncheck which full text threads you'd like to delete..

you dont need a widget to delete individual msgs within a conversation...simply tap on the msg bubble you'd like to delete, the white "drop down" menu will appear, when you select "Delete message" it will only delete the msg you tapped on...I literally just did it, it works.

If your right handed.. the lock button is on the wrong side in my opinion.. it would have been better to have put it on the left side for one handed operation.. try it using your left hand and you will see how easy it is to use the button one handed.
