Root Am I bricked?

Alright, so my phones rooted of course and last night I backed up my phone to an earlier time before I had CM7. Well, today I decided to put it back on my phone, when my phone reboots now, it goes to the blue cm7 loop screen and freezes and starts all over again. I cant get the phone to fully turn on, and quite honestly I'm new at all this.

Also, when I boot into recovery it keeps asking me if I want to update, and well I guess it never does because the phone won't boot all the way up., it just keeps "updating".

Is there any way I can fix the phone by changing something on the SD card through the computer? Or does the phone HAVE to be connected to the computer?

Welcome to AF :D

No you are not bricked. You are being prompted to update in hboot because you have a file on the root of your SD card that is titled "PG05IMG.zip" which is either a radio, recovery, splash screen... You need to get the card in a card reader so you can delete that file to get into recovery. Once you delete that file you should be able to get in recovery and flash the rom.

If you used rom manager to flash the rom it sounds like it failed due to not wiping all partitions. I would suggest wiping /data, /system, cache, and dalvik cache then flashing the rom again.

If you can get to recovery you're not bricked. You might need to get rid of the file on the sdcard that wants to update by deleting it on a computer or something. I'm not that great at walkthrough but go to IRC #thunderbolt and they will get you fixed up if someone here can't.

did you root your phone with revolutionary root if so you should already have a recovery all you need to do is go back to that screen scroll down to recovery hit the power button it should flash the htc screen and then go into a blue screen this is the revovery now from there use the volume go do to wipe data factory reset hit power then it will make you pick it again use the volume button to scrool down power to seclet now after that go to wipe cashe then choose again. then go up to reboot hit power. hope this helps you are boot looping if you cant get there try to do a factory reset in that same screen you are see the the update but try my idea first it should be fine. there is one other thing is to go to the recovery screen then volume down to backup restore choose restore there should only be one choice. select it and hit power if that is the only back up you did then go back to reboot. use the voume buttons to scroll the power button to select. you can back up by going to the go back choice on the screen.thank you christo37
