Root Am i stupid or something?

ok so im trying to get appinstaller to find the z4root program that i have copied onto my SD card and it isnt working. The thing im noticing is even though im downloading the z4root .apk the file that shows up is a .zip file ive tried extracting ive been at this for a couple hours and im about to rip out all my hair. Ive rooted the fascinate and the original droid been doin this stuff forever but im officially stumped and it is probably something so simple that im gonna feel even more ******ed when i get the answer.

Did you dimply navigate to your sd card via the files program? Once there if you simply touch the z4root.apk it will start the install process.

You simply rename it with .apk instead of .zip

So...how do you feel now?

hey here is another question... coming from the original droid world i had that thing oc'd to 1.3 ghz are there any Great overclocking kernals out there?
