Am I the only one with this problem?

Okay, it is summer and extremely HOT here (high 90's). So when I am out and about I am often a bit sweaty. If I talk on the phone with it up to my face, of course the screen gets a little wet, but then the screen gets immediately unresponsive. I often have to hit the power button to turn the screen off, wipe the screen, then turn the screen back on to get it to respond. I can usually hang up the phone okay but can't get back to a different screen or push any other areas of the screen. Is this normal?

A couple of times I have actually had the phone completely freeze on me and had to do a battery pull.

I just noticed this today when I was out in the 102 degree day working. I answered the phone and the sweat got on the screen. After the call was over I couldn't hang up. Then after it finally disconnected from the other person hanging up it decided to press the call button and redial the number that just called me. Hitting the power button and wiping it was the only thing that fixed it for me.

This is funny... my son got his hands on my evo with slobber when I went to use it the slobber acted like another finger and i was pinch to zooming

Remember these are capacitive screens, it doesn't use pressure to sense interaction. It senses changes in the "capacitance" of of a grid of wires pressed between layers of glass. Anything that can conduct electricity and disturb that, including sweat.

I've also had this quirk happen to me!

That makes sense. I guess there is no help for it unless I want to be permanently attached to my bluetooth headset.

this will happen if you

leave a nice cool area and go outside in the hot humid area
sweat on your face
oils from your face

also if you hands are wet when your wife tells you to do the dishes and you dont dry your hands enough and you ans your phone and goto hang up and your ph wont respond lol!
