Help Amazingly Slow Internet

Hi. So I bought an LG L35G a little over a month ago simply because it was the cheapest Android phone Straight Talk had (Didn't want to go through the process of unlocking a different phone since I didn't have internet).

At first it was going fine, I could deal with the tiny screen and everything. Then 2-3 weeks ago my phone's mobile internet started timing out every time I tried to do something, and occasionally after repeatedly trying it would connect but take forever to download the page/file/whatnot. I took the battery out for 5min and that solved the timing out problem, but my net is still SUPER slow. My max speed is about 15kb/s, but it rarely gets above 10kb/s. And I've tried removing the battery multiple times since.

I emailed Straight Talk and they said I would have to call their customer service and talk to them, but I HATE calling their customer service. They always screw something up after being on hold for an hour. Could I maybe get some help please?

My phone is rooted, but I did that after the problem started. I have the stock ROM on there. And yes, my connection is 3G. Before the problem my max speed was 350kb/s at night, and the absolute slowest it went was 60kb/s. Also, if it helps, my phone keeps constantly switching between UMTS and HSDPA protocols, about every minute it switches, and I don't know if it did it before but I doubt it since UMTS can't get 350kb/s. Thanks in advance for any help.

Not only is there not a data subdirectory in the system folder, I've looked through almost every folder (All the ones that would make sense for a throttle folder) and I can't find anything pertaining to throttling. I don't think I'm being throttled, but I've been wrong before.

Also, I forgot to mention before that I've tried a hard reset, clearing the cache, and clearing the delvik cache (I think that's what it's called).

Work has me more fatigued than I thought. I forgot to put Ghost Commander in root mode. I found the throttle folder, tried deleting the contents, then the folder itself, but no change. Still getting max 15kbps. Is it possible that this is a hardware issue?

Unless an app changed them for some reason they should be the same as when I activated the phone. Where can I find out what they're supposed to be so I can check them?

So I checked the straight talk website for apn settings, tried them, and it wouldn't connect at all. My phone won't connect with the ATT apn at all (ATT.mvno). It will only work with Wap.tracfone. I searched boards for apn settings and still nothing. The reason I think it MIGHT be a hardware issue is because I was sitting it on my subwoofer when I connected to my pc, but I think my sub is magnetically shielded.

The settings on the site don't work. I have the correct settings posted somewhere on the Merit board.

I tried to find the APN settings you posted but it would take me at least a week to find it with this slow net. I tried the tweakker app using both the Straight Talk ATT and Straight Talk options. Neither helped. I'm starting to think my subwoofer ISN'T magnetically shielded (Even though it's setting directly next to my PC) and it screwed up the 3G receiver on my phone.

Since I doubt ST will send me a new one, I'm just going to deal with it until I get a decent paycheck and just buy a new phone. Hate the screen on this one anyway. Any suggestions for a decent one that will work on ST that doesn't cost much, like <$200? (MUST be Android, and a 3.5"+ high density screen is a definite plus)

I don't know if the Queen is a good one or not but it is cheap.

My internet got turned of the other day. I still had messaging & phone but no internet. I deleted a ton of files & internet again. It may still be files that were pushed to the phone. it'd take me hours to tell you which ones. You could try my Nandroid tho.

Mine went out too. Just got it to start working again early this morning by leaving the battery and sim card out for 5 minutes. Still slow as snot though. I'm not sure how to use a nandroid backup but I'm willing to give it a shot.
