Amazon ship time?

Has anyone recently purchased/received their Incredible from Amazon? I'm about to make the jump, but the site is indicating that it won't be shipped until mid to late October. Is this normal, or does Amazon ship more quickly than the "5-7" weeks?

Other phones show that they are in stock and will be shipped fairly quickly
 
My advice is to go with the droid x. I have done much research. The x has a better processor, graphics processor, bigger screen, better cam. It has hdmi out and dlna. And alot more! The incredible is just a glorified nexus one with sense UI. Ands 30 fps cap i believe. (That's bad)
And if you don't like the X, there soon to launch the incredible hd. Which is a verizon evo. But better because its new new. Hopefully will have a better cpu +gpu!

Hardly a better camera on the X.

Also, the screen may be big but it a washed out looking LCD. Hold the two together and take a look. You cannot deny the inc's screen is way better looking. Oh and a glorified nexus 1 sounds like an awesome description.
 
While any feedback is appreciated, the question was about Amazon's ship times regarding the Incredible, and posted in the Incredible forum for this reason.

I want an Incredible for my own reasons, and want to get a better price through amazon, but do not want to wait 5-7 weeks. Is this a typical wait time, or does Amazon normally come through more quickly?
 
OK, from yesterday to today, the info has changed on amazon. I priced the incredible yesterday and got an estimated delivery date of oct 24. Today its showing sept 17.

this renders the thread moot. feel free to ignore or delete
