AMOLED vs. LCD Screens

I think the battery savings from AMOLED have been oversold. They may be measureable, but there is not a dramatic difference.

I can't compare the two screen types, but I can say that my rooted sLCD Incredible is getting excellent battery life regardless. Blows the Eris out of the water even with the same 1300mah battery, and we're talking twice the cpu, bigger screen... well you all know the specs.

If you can find an AMOLED, I'd go for it just for the nicer blacks, but if you can't, don't shy from the sLCD. It's a great phone.

all 3 replacement phones verizon has sent have been amoled to my surprise. Not sure if that means they like me, or they have refurbished lots of amoled Dinc's.
I had the dreaded boot-loop of death on the previous 3, so I was beginning to think that it was tied to the screen type; but this one is rock solid (knock on wood).

So I bought an Eris when it came out, then got an inc1, then an inc2, and the worst thing in my life happened today. My dad though it would be funny to get me an iPhone. Good one, dad.
