Root amon_RA 2.1.1 out

Yes, we've known about this for a few days now. However, RA 2.2 was just released, so, here, I'll help make this post relevant for you :).

v2.2
Nandroid backup is now selective, boot/system/cache/data are selected by default.
Nandroid checks if there's at least 500MB free on SDcard before starting a backup.
Kernel min freq is set to max freq to speed up things (tip of toastcfh).
Added/updated error/warning messages.

Hey aka can you restore nandroids made from amon 1.8 with 2.2?

Pardon me for the newbie question but I just upgraded and now I notice a lot more options under nandroid backup. What should be checked for a backup before flashing new ROMs?

I don't have my phone with me at the moment, so I haven't gotten a chance to flash the latest, but if you view a directory with an existing nandroid backup in it (/sdcard/nandroid/(unique number)/(date/time GMT), you will see the partitions it backed up by default before. Make sure it backs up those same things (boot/cache/data/system/wimax). I'm not sure if wimax is even selectable. I can verify this for you later today, or somebody else (or you) can. Is this what you're referring to?

No what I'm referring to is that with the new version when you go to do a nandroid backup there are options that you can select. In 1.8 there were no options...you just selected backup.

What are the options you see?

it goes to a screen with boot,system,data,cache,recovery,wimax,sd-ext,.android_secure

it has 4 checked already i suppose i should check wimax.

im doing one right now just to make sure my wimax is backed up.

That's basically what I was referring to :). boot, system, cache, data, and wimax are what it used to do by default. sd-ext would be if you partitioned your sdcard. It used to be a separate backup option in RA. .android_secure has to do with normal froyo apps2sd, if I'm not mistaken. The defaults are probably fine. Just make sure you have at least one backup that includes wimax.

do you know exactly why he came out with another recovery?

Would I need to include "recovery" in each backup?
