An Office War Has Started Eris Vs IPhone!

I work with about 50 others in my clinic. About 5 of them had IPhones before I got my Eris. Then 2 more got Iphones. Now, at least 4 or 5 times a day they're in here checking out my Eris. Have to remember to bring my charger in since they mess with it so much my battery is dead by lunch!

Out of the 7 that have the Iphones, now 3 of them are pissed they didn't look into the Eris. The 2 that just got IPhones are pissed the most. Now I even got 2 others that work for me, and another person (all with Sprint) saying they were gonna go with AT&T, but since have changed their minds and will go with Verizon for my phone!

What's crazy is, I haven't even downloaded many APPS that you would think make people like it so much. That's just sad. I own an Ipod Touch, but know nothing of the IPhones capabilities, I just assumed it was the same + a phone. I'mma send Verizon a bill for this mess!!

YAY, no kitties were killed!

good stuff!
i have three iphone guys i`ve silenced with my eris :)
they particularly like my bomb app...it can be set to send them 900000000000000000000000 text messages LMAO!
i wouldnt ever though, verizon could easily im sure trace that data to see the originator and receiver :)

The corniest, yet funniest thing I've did to the IPhoners that were trying out my Eris was open up the Screen Crack APP. Had me crackin up watching their faces when they thought they messed up my new phone.

lol....I just had a co-worker talking about his new Iphone 3GS at lunch...
I dropped my HD2 next to his Iphone and my other buddy dropped his Eris I made him get :)
He pretty much tried to steal them both and leave his Iphone on the table...

I have a coworker that has been foaming at the mouth to get an iPhone for the past few years, but is glued to T-mobile for some reason. He finally got one a week or so ago and is ready to throw it out of the window. After playing with my Eris, someone else's Droid and another person's Hero he can't believe that his iPhone "sucks so bad". LOL

Dang, another one just came in wanting to check something else out on my Eris. Didn't she know I was half way sleep!?!

2 less points for the Eris now, cutting in to my on the job power nap time.

The Eris is great, but it really can't match the power of the iPhone. I don't have much experience with the iPhone but I have used the browser and surfed around in the OS and it's smoking fast. The Nexus is also smoking fast.

Just don't kid yourself that the Eris is a powerhouse and the best phone out there. I would take a Nexus or any of the new HTC phone over my Eris any day of the week, but I'm sure that's true for everyone in this forum. Seriously, you should really try the Nexus, it is BLAZING fast.

You should see my HD2! So Bad A@@

The difference is in what the iPhone can't really do compared to what an Android phone can. After spending time with an Android phone, go try out an iPhone and I am willing to bet that you will find something to say, "My Eris can do THAT! Why can't this stupid thing?"

That is actually very true. I keep forgetting that. Multitasking + widgets makes Android the king.

Sorry for the double post. Why can't I delete posts?

As far as brute power the Eris really isn't on the same level as the Iphone it's much faster then the Eris also having internal memory helps the speed ontop of a much better processor... BUT, I would never trade my Eris for an Iphone even if it was a Verizon Iphone, I really have fallin in love with Android especially after messing with 2.1 on the N1, the N1 is blazzing fast and works falwlessly...
Another thing the Iphone or N1 can match the Eris on is Price , now you can get these for Free I paid under $100 with screen protectors and slim case , you really can't get a phone this powerful for this price anywere .. The Eris definetly ahs more Bang for your Buck then any other smartphone IMO

Windows Mobile? No thanks. Sit your HD2 next to a Nexus and you may change your tune.

lol...I have done that...
They are really 2 different schools of though though..
For the Best Android experience, for sure the Nexus 1 is the best!
And once it gets to verizon I am on it! I already have been building and tinkering with a ROM of my own for it :)
But for the best WinMo experience its the Hd2, but we all know android OS kills WinMo....but that Giant screen is amazing :)

When I was still working with a bunch of techies (all with iPhones), the most fun I ever had was opening up my Metal Detector app and showing them that it actually worked. Their expressions were priceless.

ATT doesn't have service in Montana, but plenty of my friends have driven out of state to import iPhones nonetheless. It really is comical, though. They have to walk to specific places in the office building (near the windows) to place a reliable phone call, while I drive all over the countryside or sit in the basement of a 5 story windowless building with 3G.

Acidbath, when are they going to hack Android onto the HD2?

He'll be singing another tune when he puts 2.1 on said HD2.

IPhone is iCant. I know people who drop calls with full signals with them.

That has more to do with AT&T than the phone itself. If there's one thing Apple is known for is their products work almost flawlessly. Short life span, but they work. Same with the Nexus One and its 3G woes. It's T-Mobile's crappy EDGE that screws such a great product.

I think VZW has the best infrastructure, and this is just my opinion, but I think it could handle a lot of the iPhone users that would migrate over to VZW if the iPhone made its way over here.

The iPhone is so snappy because it doesn't really multitask and its processor is very underclocked, yet is still faster than any non-Snapdragon processor phone.

Each side has its pros and cons. A jailbroken iPhone is probably the best thing to use in comparison with an Android phone.

A friend of mine really really wanted the iphone if he could get it unlocked. I showed him my phone (mainly showed off NESoid and Swype, my two favorite apps....) and he's getting the Hero now instead of the iPhone (needs it to be on a local wireless company, pretty sure you can do that with the Hero but not sure about the Eris, plus he got a great deal on the Hero...). I'm just happy he's going with Android and not Apple, lol.

Looks like it's may be a war in the court room, too. Heard Apple is suing HTC for patent infringement.

Apple is taking shots in the dark hoping for a hit. The only thing taking a hit is Apple's reputation...or lack there of.

So aside from some app you got from the market..what is it that you guys/girls do on your Android phones to try and show up an iPhone user?

One time I tried to show a hard core iPhone user my phone and the lag killed my presentation...not to mention once the phone caught up to my taps..it decided to dial someone on my recent calls list. FAIL :(
