An Office War Has Started Eris Vs IPhone!

Apple is taking shots in the dark hoping for a hit. The only thing taking a hit is Apple's reputation...or lack there of.

I think apple is just flexing it's megalomaniac self to cost companies like HTC cash. Delivering a blow to the company as a tactical blow, just because they can.

I had an iphone and was so excited to move away from that company and towards the android. I can honestly say that I made the right move for so many reasons.

The problems I have with my Eris are negligible compared to the basic usability problems I had with the iphone.

Go Droid or go home!:D

Seriously, you should really try the Nexus, it is BLAZING fast.

My wife is supposedly gonna get one. She's tired of me making fun of her LG Dummy Phone. I'll make fun of it for another week or so, then shut up before she gets the Nexus, and hope she forgets what I've said.

this is how u show an iphone person up. first run task manager to kill everything (hopefully you`re using ATM lol) then run a good song from tunewiki, then hold the home button and load something else like a webpage, then while thats loading open up a game and say "i`ll play this while verizons network connects me on the web" then go back to the website by holding the home button. then do a pinch to zoom and say "just to make sure i can see it good". then tap your feet cause all the while the music is playing!!
multi-tasking baby!! :)

I'll give my honest opinion. Not just cuz I'm an Eris owner either.
After playing with a couple Iphones, for me, the big draws to the Eris are:
Feels better, in my hands.
Fits better, in my pocket.
The whole design just seems more warming to me.
After having an IPod Touch for so long, it's nice to see something new.
EVERYBODY these days has an IPhone, I don't wanna follow the crowd.
Never been fond of AT&T, been with Verizon for years, with no problems!

Of course I don't say all that when they ask about my phone though. I just hand it to them and say "take a look for yourself" if they don't like it, that's their opinion.
As far as speed, and power, etc.. I don't really care too much myself. I'm on a computer about 7 hours a day at work. Then a little bit at home. After that, I don't feel like being online for nothing. I guess the true test will be when the weather warms and we start vacationing again.

I hear ya. I don't like the way the iPhone operates. I used one once and it froze 3 times in 15 times.

Same thing here at my work - one has the IPhone and swears that she'll never go back and the rest of us have verizon phones. Im the only one with the HTC Droid and another one who was almost converted to getting an IPhone when her contract renews is changing her mind after playing with my phone. My son just change from his IPhone after the contract renewed to the Verizon's HTC Eris and he loves it. It's a great phone!

At work we have a little coalition of "Droids".

Currently: 2 Droids, 1 Eris, 2 Hero's, 1 Cliq, 1 MyTouch

...the other 200 or so employee's have iPhones...:P

my boss had to send multi pics to a company email account and he used his iphone to take the pics, well he found out the hard way that the iphone only allows one pic to be sent at a time through email. lol. My eris I can attach multi pics to the message. Love my Eris

I call shenanigans. Never seen an iPhone user accept any other phone. Just talk about some app that makes it great, says its better, then makes excuses when there battery is dead and/or calls drop. Heard it all day today. I should have smashed that pos with my storm.

I wonder what those people in your offices will think of your Eris now that it has turn-by-turn voice navigation. :)

Call it what you like. I originally couldn't care any less about any phone, long as it called and texted. Been with Verizon for a while and decided to use my upgrade on the Eris. Just so happens I've been the only one in my shop with it, and next thing you know the IPhoners were in here comparing them on their own.

All of my iPhone user friends are too full of themselves to admit that their phone can't do half the things mine can. Since getting the Eris, I pick up a friends iPhone to play with and get bored within minutes.

On another note, a blackberry user friend of mine picked up my phone to look at it the other day. She didn't even need to open any apps, just flipping through the home screen and checking out the widgets had her saying "Woah, that's cool!"

My dad also switched to the Droid from WinMo within weeks after I got my phone, he was super jealous :-p He's really happy with it now and isn't having any of the issues that I've heard other business user complain about.

Well for getting around on the phone and pure speed the iphone blows away my Eris. I have both, today I just about chucked my Eris against the wall when it just freaking lagged in between screens forever. I'd rather get dropped calls then deal with this crap. 2.1 is an improvement no doubt about it but after another full day of heavy phone/data use it freezes up. I'm hoping the Nexus One on Verizon will finally make me a happy smart phone user again, if not then I'm on-board with the new 4G iphone whatever that might bring.
