Anandtech's review of the Bionic

I really like Anandtech's reviews of devices, they go into extreme detail. They finally did a complete one of the Bionic:

AnandTech - Motorola Droid Bionic Review - Dual Core with 4G LTE

One thing I wanted to mention is the battery life. In the review its about the same as the other LTE phones on Verizon. The biggest difference is talk time. So overall...one could say the battery life is the best of all the other LTE phones.

Wifi Web browsing : Bionic by a kinda big margin
Talk time: Bionic by a HUGE margin

Whats also interesting is the talk time, battery life for the Charge. According to specs on Verizon and elsewhere it has 11 hours of mixed use. Anandtech is usually very good with their benchmarks. According to them the TBolt has overall better battery life than the Charge by about an hour...interesting. And I swore at one time the Charge was listed as having 11 hours talk time when it launched....interesting again.

The talk time and outdoor viewing might actually make me get this phone... Another interesting thing is the Bionic's audio hiss has a twin: the GS2 has the same or very similar problem. Kinda odd its not mentioned alot with GS2...but gets mentioned almost left n right about the Bionic.

It even stacks up well against the GS2 for battery life and a few benchmarks, even with its 1Ghz cpu. For real...I think the Bionic isnt getting enough props for what it does well. And the OMAP 4 isnt a slouch.

FWIW, I've gotten quite a fair amount of time to play with the T-Mobile's GS2 (the 1.5GHz version). It's nice and all, but I can't call it a better device than the Bionic. I wouldn't call it faster or smoother, either. If I was on TMO, that'd be what I want, but I'd still take the Bionic over it.
