And here comes a monkey wrench...

Cautiously optimistic but am not expecting a smooth day on Sunday.

If they try and take away my unlimited ill walk or talk to someone else who doesn't (it sounds like the wild west with everyone doin something different and there may be a few casualties of stupid)

That's not what AT&T just told me. They said you cam keep the 3G unlimited plan but not the 4g. 200mb and 2gb plans are for 4g from what I was just told by a customer service rep.

Yeah this is going to be a bitch alright.

Heck I actually have a Nexus One, much earlier than the Captivate. I had to buy a full price $550 phone just to be able to have a decent Android device on AT&T. I agree it has been VERY hard to be an Android fan and be with AT&T. Like I said, taking my unlimited data plan away is their was of saying thanks.

You know your nexus one.is probably so.much better than this craptivate lol

Thread cleaned up - off topic/bickering posts (for the most part) deleted.

For the sake of everyones interest, I will not close this thread as this topic seems informative (minus the arguing), but lets try to keep a mature discussion going without attacking each other.

Ok you CAN keep your grandfathered plans. The only way you loose a grandfathered feature is by electing out of it personally! So they just can't change your grandfathered without your CONSENT YAAAAAAYYYYYYY

I don't doubt it but even the Nexus One is getting long in the tooth. Inspire has much better screen technology, more memory, next generation snapdragon and "4G" compatible. Plus bigger screen. The one thing the Nexus has that I will miss is the AMOLED screen and the color trackball notifications...and trackball wake when rooted. Thanks for calling AT&T and letting us know what they say.:)

Sorry for the problems. things got extra heated as I'm sure you understand because of AT&T...everyone was already just shy of blowing a gasket.:) I was ready to spaz out, and I guess I did a little. We're all cool now though.

AT&T FAQ where it says i can keep my unlimited data plan printed and put in car....its going with me Sunday.

The color trackball alerts will be the hardest thing to give up for me. In the middle of the night, or whenever, you can just glance over tat the phone and know what messages you have waiting. With Cyanogen it would even flash colors in the order they were received: red for gmail, purple for missed call, yellow for 2nd gmail account, blue for yahoo livescores, etc. so you know EVERY message you have waiting without even picking the phone up. sigh...like I said, I will miss that big time. At least the Inspire does have a notification light...only drawback is that it's the same color for all notifications so you can't tell what's waiting, just that something is waiting. Oh well have to give up something to get something. :)

I think there is an app in the market or possibly when rooted which can change the color. I can't recall for sure though anyone know? ?
