Android 2.1 Update

Like I stated in another 2.1 thread, I'm a VZW Sales Rep, and we have received NO news about a 2.1 update. I'm headed in to work an an hour, I'll post back with any news.
 
By "new update" you mean the OTA that was released last weekend to a handful of Droid owners. Am I correct?

The update that is supposed to get some phones ready for the 2.1 OTA.
 
Sorry I did check from every thread title posted today, and nothing was there, I didn't look at the "moved" thread titles, only the active ones. Anyway I'll shut up and move along. Where is that dunce cap anyway?
 
I am pretty sure that there will not be an update today. If there were going to be one, it would have probably leaked already.

I also think when they do release it it will come with Flash 10.1.

We may still see one, but clearly noone has received it yet. So maybe they haven't started their push, or maybe they simply won't be starting it at all today.

I also think when they do release it it will come with Flash 10.1.

No way. Flash is much further out.
 
Why does everybody Reference FLASH in these Updates, It has Nothing to do with ANDROID. There will be NO Update For FLASH. Once the COMPANY Called Adobe Releases It, that is when We will Get It. PERIOD Call Verizion and ask them, They will tell you they never even heard of Adobe, they may tell you they like Flash Gordon though.

Chuck Norris doesnt need such a foolish device. If he wishes to send a message her will A) punch your mother in the mouth hard enough where you will get it B) Write it down and drop kick it to your location
 
yes it is the update that is suppose to get phone ready for 2.1 i installed it manually.the phone is a lot faster and smoother.

Just so you guys know, in the Adobe forums - Adobe stated that Flash is ready to go. They said that the only thing they are waiting for is 2.1 to be released. It will not be included as part of 2.1, but it is not much further out. You can hop over to the Adobe forums to see the exact post. Quote below -

"Re: Android and Windows Mobile roadmap
We're waiting for OS updates from Google and Microsoft before we can distribute a Flash Player Beta. We expect this to happen early this year. Thank you for your patience!

The first Android devices that will support Flash Player are the Droid and Nexus One. The first WinMo device will be the HTC HD2."
 
Not quite sure what this means but Motorola announced via Twitter that there has been no update since the December 2.0.1 update. Looks as if this phantom update people have been claiming that fixed Facebook and improved battery life wasn't an update to the OS at all, merely a Facebook app update.

Motorola hasn't, but perhaps VZW did. Whatever it was, some of the Droid population received an update that we have proof of.

Ahhh, theyre so great live. I saw them last october and im seeing the again Feb 4th, i cant wait! i love them so much lol

It is all rumor and speculation that this phantom update some people are getting is to "prepare" phones for the 2.1 update.

I'd like to know who first started that rumor since there is absolutely no evidence to indicate that this recent and sporadic update has anything to do with 2.1

Just more rumors - so please stop spreading it
