Help Android 2.2.2

Hi, I am new to these forums and a total newbie to Android. Just received today the Optimus S....I noticed it is running 2.2.2 Is that a newer version? I have read so much about the versions on the boards, I was just curious if this was upgraded or if there really is no difference from the 2.2 version. Any input would be great. Thanks!

It is a fairly new version of android. I don't think there's any major differences between 2.2 and 2.2.2. The optimus s was praised for coming with 2.2 stock. Its the newest version of android available out the box for the optimus s. Android 2.3 is limited to few phones stock. It should eventually be sent to the optimus s via a manufacturer/carrier OTA update. I got impatient and rooted to get 2.3 on my optimus s.
