Welcome to the Android Forums!

Though Google has released Android 2.2 (FroYo) it's not necessarily available on each Android phone until the respective phone manufacturer has created an update specific to the phone. As an example, the Droid X received it's Android 2.2 update a couple of months ago. The Samsung Galaxy S phones haven't yet gotten the update.
