Help Android 2.2 problems for the Nexus One (post them here)

Factory reset....
Sign-in to your Google Account on start-up
Connect to wifi asap
Leave the phone in the launcher and wait for the phone to synchronise all your apps - could take 10 minutes.
Don't do anything else with the phone!

I went to Market and clicked Downloads and only like 6 of my apps show. This has never happened before.
Had that last night, only 2 of my apps showed up in Downloads. If I searched for them, it knew they were installed.

Everything went back to normal after a reboot.

Everything went back to normal after a reboot.

I rebooted like four times since then, with no luck still...

EDIT:

If your having this problem, go to settings>applications>manage applications>click the all tab. Scroll down to "Market" and "Market Updater". Click one at a time and click "Clear Data". Once you do that, go back to the Market itself. It'll ask you to agree to the terms, just like when you first turned the phone on when you purchased it.

Fixed :)

I'm having a very odd issue after applying the OTA update manually to my AT&T model phone, I can no longer with the default browser access HTTPS sites when on 3G (works fine on wifi). They just load a blank page.

Did some searching and found simliar issues but mostly developers discussing it no users, anyone else seeing this?

Example: https://www.paypal.com

Wotcher all, when I first got Froyo I tried portable wifi hotspotting on both my Windows XP netbook and my work Linux laptop, and it worked on both. I've now tried it again since updating to FRF85b (or whatever the official release of froyo is) and now both Windows XP and my linux box seem to associate with the network but neither can obtain an IP address. Both work fine with USB tethering (which is how come I'm able to post this right now).

Has anyone else seen this? And even better, anyone know how to fix it!

Re my wifi tethering issue, it seems that the update to Froyo (or some other process) modified the password on the phone from password to "password" (i.e. it added the quotes). As the XP and Linux laptops had the original password without quotes, the login was failing, XP made it look like I'd authenticated to the network but failed to acquire an IP address. When I modified the password on the phone back to password (without quotes) it worked. I didn't add those quotes myself!

And no the real password is not password..

BTW it took me a while to find my own post, shame there's no way to notify a user that a mod has shoved their post onto the end of a different long thread...

That's strange, you should still have a notification subscription of the new thread in the UserCP after the threads merger. If you didn't get a notification, sorry about that. I just felt that your problem fitted in here :)

Hi Guys!!

This is my first post so please be gentle.

I just updated my Nexus to Froyo manually last night from EPE54B to FRF85B. It all went well for the most part until earlier today I noticed my gallery wasn't working properly. It takes anywhere from 10 to 30 seconds to load, and it was working fine last night after the install. Not even going through the camera application made it load any faster.

For a little while my Music app wouldn't show any of my music, but that fixed itself after a reboot.

Google Goggles force closed about 5 times before it would actually let me take a picture. Maybe that has something to do with it as everything started freaking out after that incident.

I have rebooted several times with no success. Is it possible to reinstall the update? What all does a hard reset do?

Any other suggestions?

Updated to Froyo about 15 hours ago.

Edit: I don't know if it was ATT or what but did another reboot after not having 3G for over 20+ hours and now it seems to be working again. Sorry about that if anyone spent time trying to figure something out, thanks.

Mods and OP, let me know if you want me to edit this whole 3G question out.

Well, I'm not sure if it ever worked but I just noticed I cannot transfer any data over 3G. I tested out the network with my boring yet rock solid E71 and it's perfectly fine. Since I live next to a tower, it has plenty of signal as always. You can see the up and down arrows in the 3G symbol on the notification bar turning on and off but nothing seems to transmit.

Checked my data stats app and sure enough, about 3 mb has transferred through 3G since upgrading to Froyo:mad:

On another note, maybe a problem with Launcher Pro but Google search widget now appears on top of the screen over my News/Weather widget but I still have to touch the original location to pop up the keyboard and enter a search. Tried switching to the stock launcher and it keeps going back to LP after I minimize anything, ie, phone, browser, anything.

You have LP set up as your default launcher. Go into manage applications setting, open LP and select 'clear defaults'.

Thanks Rose. I was using the "Home Switcher" app like I always did to switch over to the stock launcher when I noticed the Google Search widget problem. It used to always work when I used it and clicked on the make it default within the app. Anyway, I just clicked on LP in the Mangage Apps and had my first phone lock and had to pull the batt. That was a first:o Rebooted and cleared default and the stock launcher is staying now, thanks.

Sigh, I prefer LP so I'll see how it goes from time to time.

I really wish I knew what was up with the 3G though:mad: Phone is pretty much pointless if 3G doesn't work:(

HomeSwitcher doesn't work in 2.2 :( it's the way the OS is coded now that the dev can't do much about it >_<

Very odd -- I resolved my issue by removing the proxy IP in my APN settings which worked fine in 2.1.

I'm on Telus Canada, just FYI in case anyone else counters this issue, everything appears working perfectly now.

Hey I just got the Frf85b ota and now the flash for the camera is off. Like its not synced with the shutter. Any ideas?

EDIT: I tried several other camera apps on teh market and they all have the same problem.

Hi all -- Since manually downloading FRF85B, my phone has had an issue that appears to be tied to the No Lock app I installed when I first got the phone (to be able to unlock the phone with the trackball.)

It seems the phone tries to "sleep" when I'm using it. At the most inopportune times -- surfing the web, playing a game -- the screen will freeze for a split second, then bring up the lock pattern for another second, then return to what I was on originally.

The issue started with FRF85B. I received the OTA for FRF91 this morning, but the problem remains. Any ideas... short of getting rid of No Lock?

I posted this a few days ago but didnt get a reply. Ever since i got the FRF85b OTA when i use the camera the flash is off sync with the shutter. Since then ive gotten FRF91 OTA but it didnt fix the problem. Its kind of useless to take pics now with the flash not workin properly.

Thanks for posting that.
I've been having problems with the built in browser not working over 3G, and I just removed the APN proxy setting and it fixed it.

I'm on the Orange network in the UK. (I had a proxy setting of 192.168.071.035)

So far I'm not enjoying Froyo:

Battery life is appalling.

This new fast browser is much slower and loading sometimes completely pauses leaving me needing to switch on and off. Wi-fi and 3G.

Earpiece volume seems much quieter.

browser is really fast, but I agree that it needs more time to start loading (then it does faster) and there's something with pages loading in the background that it's definitely wrong

All of a sudden, my home button quit working and when I push the power button, I don't have to slide to unlock, it isn't locked. Forgot to mention that I cannot lock the phone at all and the search button doesn't work either.
