Help Android 2.2 update

Hi, i want to update my LG optimus gt540 with the new Android update, Android 2.2, but i dont want to do it myself because i think i will **** my phone up or somthing, so i was just wondering if there was a phone store i could take my phone into and they would do it for me? if you know any could you please tell me them. Also my phone is locked into vodafone, would they do it if i took it into vodafone or any other store that sells phones.

There is no update to 2.2 for this phone, however there is an unofficial way to do it in the root forum at the top there

find someone who can upgrade, but only without any guarantee. I do it only one time, is all about root the system and flash unofficial system with fastboot. After that is easy and i dont think there is any risk of brick phone. Danger is when you work with LG application for update. Doesnt look like very stable :(

But telephone dont have high price if stop work (not probably) and you can try whatever you want without lost a lot of money (brick nexus S or galaxy SII is worst)

LG haven't officially made Android 2.2 available on the LG GT540 yet, and probably aren't going to, as there isn't any mention of it on their official blog.

However, there is an unofficial way to update the phone to either Android 2.2, or Android 2.3, there are instructions for it in the first post of this thread: http://androidforums.com/optimus-gt...yanogenmod-7-android-2-3-avaliable-gt540.html

Make sure to follow the instructions very carefully if you plan to do this, there are also instructions on how to revert back to Android 2.1, if there are any problems with either Android 2.2 or 2.3.

well, I've been cursing that it wasn't possible to update officially.

just connected to transfer some files to my desk.top and HEY PRESTO.

It's not the latest version (just released and closing security holes) but is at least 2.1 (release 1) so I can install more recent applications.

I found neither 2.2. or 2.3 based custom rom fully support all hardware of LG gt540 .if cyanogen support it officially in future then installing a custom rom will be a good option. but for now stay with official stock 2.1
