Android 2.3.4 for Samsung Galaxy Ace !

this app just fakechanges resolution by rendering everything smaller. galaxy ace has a display resolution of 320x480, that's it. you won't get any more pixels unless you draw them yourself. and since the screen size is the same, you also won't get a higher pixel density.
 
This might seem a really stupid question.

I installed the 2.3.3 rom on my phone before it bricked for no apparent reason. I noticed that in the pull down notifications menu that you didnt have the option to toggle data connectivity on or off. I did when I had the Orange firmware on there.

My question is there is 4/5 firmware files which have to be installed. Do u have installed all of them or can u not installed one of them as i found the data connectivity icon on notifications bar very useful.

NO, there's no data connection toggle, it must be unique to the orange firmware.. although i too would find it useful, and i doubt that you'll find those files somewhere..

i have never rooted my phone.... i have upgraded to this firmware you gave... what should i use to root my phone ?

plz dont reply saying "this may brick your phone"
 
After upgrade to this firmware I unable to instal y thailand tv due to different regional. Any solution to solve the regional problem ? Will root solve this ? And this firmware doesn't display chinese character correctly.
But this firmware speed up my device ! Battery improve a lot.

Anyone else have recharging issues in 2.3.4? My phone will not start recharging, i need to restart the phone in order for it to recharge.
 
I have installed this firmware. I get at least double the Quadrant score than when i was on 2.2.1 but i can't seem to notice much change at all. I mean I thought this was supposed to be faster so I tried some games and the ones that didn't work before still don't work. The same games (e.g. Angry Birds Rio) still lag on this firmware too... I don't think it was worth it upgrading to this. But since I have it i will test it out further with other stuff.

It does have a different feel to it so umm yeh give it a shot!

Just browse the forums for root for gingerbread 2.3.3 in the galaxy ace forums.. IMO rooting didn't brick my phone but i bricked it while trying to make a custom ROM, but thankfully, i was able to restore it using my own tutorial thread ;)

I followed your steps but Odin stops at setup connection.....

I have used the Samsung usb+ modem drivers and removed kies as advised

Any Ideas ???
 
Does anyone know of any news when the offcial update will be available? Im getting this phone tomorrow and wondering what to do...

Does your phone screen say Downloading.. on it ?
If it doesn't then that's the problem, you have to get it into downloading mode to do it.. otherwise i can't think of any other problems..

I have find the problem, didn't know that the left button has 2 functions :confused: I was pressing in the middle and it took me to emergency download screen :eek: ( Dos like texts in the left upper corner) until a friend showed me that I need to press more down which has put me in the downloading screen :rolleyes:( the yellow download message in the middle. After that it was a breeze and on 2.3.4 now:D
 
i updated my galaxy ace to 2.3.4 and my screen turns off randomly like every 5 minutes and i need to press power to turn on the screen, so i downgraded my phone to 2.3.3 and the problem is still there, anyone know how to fix this? (sorry for my bad English)

Buddy, does it go to standby and lock itself WHILE you are using it?
 
i found the solution to my problem, the problem was that i am using an european version of the firmware and i live in mexico where the connection to 3g is different, so to solve it i just disable 3g and enable 2g

2. Will I Be Able To All The Other Functions Properly ?
3. Will I Be Restricted To European-Available apps only ??

1. You might possibly not get future updates from Kies.
2. Yes there will be no hindrance in any other functions.
3. No, but on flashing you WILL get 3 extra useless apps that work only in Europe, but you can remove them after rooting your phone.

Keep in Mind that this ROM is not the official one from Samsung, so it will void your warranty.
