Android 2.3 for Tbolt coming Mid June

ILoveMyDroid

Android Enthusiast
Rumor today is the HTC Thunderbolt will receive the OTA Update for android 2.3 will be launching in mid June through the first week of July. Needless to say it is likely HTC will change the OTA update schedule or move it entirely. Yet my source, remaining undisclosed, is slipping the word out.

I heard if you hold your phone upside down and hit the software update you will get it now.

Rumors are just that rumors. Has any device ever got its update on the rumor release or the official release? All this is going to do is upset you when mid july comes around and still no GB. It would be nice to get it on my Birthday of July 13. So HTC/Verizon if ya read this it would be a nice gift and I can rub it in all the Bolt owners faces lol.

i was speaking sarcastically. i just want the reboots to stop :(
I think we all want the reboots to stop. I did do two factory resets back to back and I haven't seen a reboot yet. I just think its my phone toying with me

Oh my god!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i held my phone upside down and hit the update and

it didnt work :p

I did this and it worked, well no it didn't I dropped the phone and the battery popped out I thought just maybe that could have been the reboot for updated software...maybe tomorrow

I tried this and it worked!! Thank you so much for the tip Dark Jedi! I can't believe I got my OTA update to... 2.2.1... FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!

We also want the reboots to stop on my Wife's phone. VZW will give me a new phone of my choice... Which one should i get her. The Charge is probably not a good phone either because of the slow file system..

On a side note, the Evo just got gingerbread today so that must mean HTC is doing something with their updates. Hopefully, the tbolt is not far behind.

are any of you guys rooted? hopefully we can get GB pretty soon!

I was tired of the reboots and tried the Charge out... hated it, slow and it just felt and looked cheap, had it for a day and I went back to my Bolt.

Hoping for the GB update sooner than later

I am rooted and had the gingerbread leak going for a while im not much of a sense guy myself but it was good and there are sum pretty good GB roms out also, untill the rumors of ppls phones goin into what they are calling the DEATH BOOTLOOP started happening. So a dev over at XDA suggested to revert back to froyo so i have but i went with CM7 alpha and still have GB but dont have to worry bout that problem. my phone still reboots randomly tho!

Shortly? No. If GB's that close, why not roll MR2 and GB into one push? Why run two concurrent QA cycles and light up the customer service lines with two OTA updates back to back?

If you look in the All Things Root subforum you will see that the new radio dropped yesterday. I think the devs are reviewing the RUU. I went to Bamf GB but had some phone problems (dropped calls) so reverted. Put on the new radio and reloaded Das Bamf. It is very nice. Lots of cool tweaks in sense. No reboots too!!

Anyway, check it out...

Heh. All the hopeful talk and rumors concerning when GB will come to the Thunderbolt brings back "fond" memories of all the hopeful talk and rumors that happened when 2.1 was going to come to the Droid Eris.

Rule of thumb: every date you hear will be bullcrap. Updates always end up coming a month past the time frame the manufacturer says at the point where all you see on the message boards are posts from pissed off customers ranting and complaining that "if it doesn't come next week I'm selling the phone". Then it finally comes. We wont even have any notice beforehand. We'll find out by an engadget post or a poster on here making a thread about it.

Ya know what i do? Don't think about it. There isn't a single feature I'm loooking forward to anyway, so its pretty easy to not give a damn this time.

Even in a barely maturing, enthusiast subculture tech like Android, only a tiny fraction of users participate in forums about phones. We see the +/- 3 sigma crowd. At one end, you have the frantic who can't wait another day, at the other the self exonerated who claim to not care yet check the forums twice a day. Under the bell, an ocean that says "oh, cool, an update. click."

It all amounts to more foamed milk than a Starbucks, but it's a heck of a lot more fun to watch. I left my last forum because the mods wouldn't let the milk warm up.
