Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) Update for Optimus S rolling out now

I'm with Credo too- I've talked to 4 different techs- one kept saying I wasn't supposed to even have the update- it was all a big mistake. Another said they were working on a solution to either fix it or revert back, but she didn't know how long that would be, and credited our acct. for a month of data charges.

4th guy I talked to, 3G was actually working for me, so I'm not sure he even believed there was an issue. He said it would be fine for my other family members to go ahead and update their phones when it was pushed to them. When I asked why we'd do that, when it already screwed up 1 phone, he said they could just call him if there were any problems, not that he did anything useful to fix mine.
Credo support sucks!
We received our phone three days before the update rolled out. I installed and we have no problems with either of our phones. My husband and I each got the Optimus S when we joined Credo. Maybe we were just lucky.

I’ll say it again, even though it’s too late now: one of the upgrade options (on mine at least) is More Info. Choose that, then pull the battery out. Wait a bit, put it back in and restart --- it stays at 2.2.2. Hallelujah, I guess.

I have had minor issues after updating to Gingerbread....nothing tragic just yet...(crosses my fingers & toes but not my eyes! :))....hoping Sprint comes out with another update to fix all the other problems that people have been having.....only issue I had was with not being able to use USB/cable to my pc....that was fixed with the LG drivers....

I have no issues update was fast and clean my optimus is better then day one. So I dont understand how there is so many people are having issues.

I am so annoyed with my LG Optimus S. For so many reason, of course. Most issues are livable, but this is too much. After this system update on Saturday or Sunday, my phone no longer does predictive text with dictionary words. It will suggest words that are within my phone (other txts/phonebook names, etc. However, no matter how much I change the settings, it's gone and I'm left frustrated as ever trying to text!

How do I fix this?! I don't even remember giving the update the "OK" it just did it when I started charging the phone.

There's an android app called User Dictionary Manager. Some site said that might help. They lied. It doesn't do anything more than the current keyboard does now. Still no predictive text.

Also, phone WILL NOT CHARGE with car charger or USB chord now, only wall charger. WHY!?!

Oh, and after 5 hrs, my battery is drained. That's with NO RUNNING APPS. I understand this phone is garbage. I just need it to work a little bit longer!

I don't have all day to Google the issue, and I'm not that tech saavy. So. I beg of you, someone make texting easy again and tell me how to fix this nonsense!

THANKS!!!!!!!!!:)

I can't help with most of this... but I did notice one very odd thing. I too plugged my phone into my car charger and appeared to be getting nothing out of it... but at one point I left it plugged in anyway and about half an hour later I looked at my phone and it had gained charge. This may not be true for everyone, but at least for me - the phone never shows that it is charging on my car charger, but it IS charging, strangely enough.

Might be worth plugging it in and seeing if that's true for more people. If so, then it's simply a software issue, but not affecting the actual charging.
