Android 2.3

Just in case anyone is slow enough to misinterpret this, that is the motorola firmware number and has no relation to the as yet unannounced android 2.3.

sigh.
 
Yep, just to drive the point home:

ANDROID 2.3 (GINGERBREAD) IS NOT OUT YET.............ON ANY HANDSET.....(other than developers and testers).
 
I'm going to nit pick a little more at what you're saying.

Google have not confirmed that Gingerbread is going to be v 2.3 or 3.0 or 27.6.

A lot of people assumed 3.0 for no reason for a very long time, there was a post by a google engineer fairly recently that suggested it will be 2.3 but hardly official.

This is a FIRMWARE update for the MOTOROLA DROID 2, for Verizon customers.

Let me know how's your DHD working after you have downloaded this update... I'm quite curious.
 
Given the fact this is neither gingerbread nor a Desire HD update, I'm closing this thread to cut down on confusion.
