Newbie
Today 7 sept and nothing about the upgrade to Android 2.3, suppose to be on 6 sept.

i try with pc sync 4 and lg mobile support but without success

Ya I heard late sept, but i heard the 6th as well. I've given up on 2.3 and if it comes great if not i'm still satisfied with my phone. As long as it's android.

Hi everybody

lg release 2.3.3 on shine plus
version: v.20a

i using lg mobile tool to upgrade and everything is ok

Alright I'll be giving it a shot in a bit, its not that I don't believe you, its just this seems too good to be true, and on the Telus website it doesn't show this update available.

Let us know how it goes. I may move some of my apps back first I used Link2SD on. I don't trust the update on the rooted phone.

Hmm, so I have it downloaded and installed, to some degree. Right now its restoring my data. It needs 50MB of your internal data to install, so before hand making room would make this go faster. Right now its restoring my text messages.....and I had ALOT. This is going to be awhile.

OK it reset after 50% and jumped to 100% after it shut off. If I recall the last d update did that too. Elapsed time about 6.5 minutes.

Booting up now, despite it saying it will reboot automatically. It didn't...

Whew, had 53 megs free so restore went. That took about 3 minutes. Lost all my text messages the other day when the sim card got full. I guess that helps.

About says:

Version: 2.3.3
Kernel: 2.6.35.7
Build: GRI40
Software: LGC710h-V20a

I'm not sure what those are, but I noticed home selector is gone, as well as the Tiny LED flashlight app no longer works......but its nice you can put some of these apps on the SD card.

- Home Selector is gone, and I'm stuck with Go Launcher for now
- There were two youtube shortcuts, one doesn't work and gets deleted after a few reboots
- Voice Search has an update in appbrain, but update is not compatible for us
- Sound Hound and Shazam are no longer compatible
- Noticed the tethering app. Haven't tried it.
-Twitter and Do It Tomorrow says they can be moved to and the function is there in appbrain, but when it takes you to the properties it's greyed out
- Market and Gmail look totally different
- When connected to USB and you set an app to install in appbrain, it kicks it off on the phone (not sure if that feature was there before and I never noticed)
- So far I think my battery is not calibrated correctly. I plugged it into the wall and it stays at 39%
- Data restore was flawless
- Gallery isn't loading my pics, going to reboot and try later
- I found rebooting a few times helps. Some apps like G+ would hang trying to install from the market when downloading
- took a pic and went through and was able to browse with Pixlr-o-matic ok
- The USB warning screen if your phone is plugged into your PC while you boot it up is annoying
- There's some news app now... haven't tried it
- Some cool effects on the screen when you press and scroll - not sure if it's the OS or Go Launcher

Gonna play with it more.

- To set a ringtone for a specific contact from a custom ringtone, you have to set song as a ringtone from the music player. It then appears on the pull down list as an option when you set it for the contact. Good and Bad. So I guess go into the music player, use all the songs/sounds you want as a ringtone and they'll all appear as an item in the contact as a ringtone option.

- Flickr is now incompatible
- 3G network button now connects/disconnects with one touch
- App2SD is good app to have now to bulk move your apps to SD
- Saw some Flash sites work. Not shockwave though
- My wifi dies every so often. It did this before, but it's doing a lot more now. It could just be my terrible router
