Samsung Saturn (I6500) firmware has been released! Now hope that it'll use the same modem as the Galaxy...

The rest of the specs are actually pretty nice.
I will consider getting it if all known specs prove to be true and it has 256 megs of RAM (at least).
Judging from its cpu speed I would guess its the same cpu as Spica so divx playback probably is onboard.

Hopefully Drakaz will be sorting 2.1 out for us! I saw these come through on twitter earlier today...

Android 2.1 source code released : 2.1 snapshot in Eclair branch - android-platform | Google Groups. Come on repo !

Getting 2.1 source code, then applying Galaxy RIL patch on it !
about 7 hours ago from Echofon

It's the same source code, but it's a way to cleanup the ril code, them make the first commit on Galaxy Open Source Project !

good news. camera shouldn't be hard, i mentioned eugene who was first to enable camera on G1 eclair AOSP.

I'm eager to see framebuffer functional because video is choppy...

cyanogen is reporting functional 3d on his G1 so another huge issue (no gallery app) may be gone as well. i'm running 2.1 gallery app but it's rendered in cpu (slooow).

dragon: and bluetooth? and light sensor? is proximity sensor working on his release?

I'm happy to see progress in the open source community project. Open source is much more trustworthy.
perhaps you should call it "trustymod".

I don't know, and actually personally don't actually care for me once GPS and Camera are working I'll probably start using it.

Just a silly question:

All this work will be valid for i7500L users?

We can't wait to benefit ourself with yours incredible intelligence and hard work! :)

Maybe we could ship an i7500L model to Drakaz also! :))

i just wanted to say "thanks" to the people who are updating this forum with news from twitter and the like; it's very helpful to those of us who don't use such things (call me an old man but i just don't get the big deal about twitter) and like to check in on this thread to see the news on the whole "galaxy 2.0" project.

i'll say it once more: this forum is fantastic and thank you all who contribute!

Fernando, I have already tried the mustymod ROM (without the amss file).

The first time I flashed it, it didn't work, but the second time it worked the first boot and I could feel Eclair taste, and when I reboot it simply stuck in the android screen...

So I returned to IK5... and now II5 with Galaxo.

PS: I'm a Brazilian with an I7500L model.

Just to inform anyone in this forum that doesn't have a Twitter account that it is possible to get the latest updates from Twitter from a normal RSS reader (such as Google Reader, Firefox live bookmarks, etc...).
Just add these links to your subscriptions:
- Twitter / drakaz
- Twitter / mustymod

- Handsfree is not working yet.

anyone using the new mustymod: what happens when you've got headphones/handsfree plugged in and someone calls you?

what about when you're playing music through the headphones/handsfree and someone calls you?

Speech recognize (in form of voice dialer) worked since first version (if you meant speech input to text fields - no), MT - no way I'd say.
