Android 3.0 and droid X

Listen...I talked to a guy looking at G1 screen protectors at BestBuy and he said the 18th..I would say case closed!

You didn't hear the latest? Turns out there was a problem with the core flux stabilizing field dampeners and a few beta testers...exploded. The OTA has been delayed to "mid to late-mid wintummer." Cross your fingers!

This is why I'm waiting for a dual core or at least a phone higher than the minimum requirements for 3.0. It's only a matter of months till it hits and I refuse to be hampered by running a phone that can barely run the latest os. The dual cores should be able to handle upgrades for a while. At least more than a freaking year.

Why do people assume a software upgrade means you need more power to run it? If you ask me, that is an evolutionary step backwards. Just sayin.

We (former BB Storm2 owners) thought the same thing.

However I do not see this happening to the Droid X. But stay tuned.

The saving grace is that Motorola has been on the ropes a little more than BB, therefore they may not be as mind bogglingly bone headed as BB. Try surviving on a Storm 1 and its "upgrades".

I agree. In fact, 2.2 makes existing hardware run better. One of Google's main missions is to make things faster - they talk about the seconds they shave off of search times when they release new search products. I think that philosophy is what will continue to make android great.

In all this discussion, has anyone noticed the X is still on 2.1??? Maybe Moto will skip 2.2 for the X and swing directly to 3...

Someone must have a source for that!

That's how software works. Google did say that Android 3 would have very high minimum requirements, and most phones today that we have will not run on it.

Gee... I'd have known that had it not been mentioned! LOL

My apologies for being sarcastic but this is essentially the subject of untold numbers of threads in this same forum.

It's going to depend on when it is released. If it's released within a year, I'm going to say yes, mainly because Motorola/Verizon released the Droid 2 and the original Droid still received FroYo (2.2), even though the Droid was technically at EOL.
