Android 3.0 verses 2.2 on Tablets

With the new 3.0 out how does it compare to Android 2.2? I am debating about buying an Archos 10.1 but interested in the Tosiba that is coming out maybe.

I have read the differences as far as 3d effects and stuff like that which is all avilable online and I am not really impressed with the differences but I might be missing something. The biggest thing holding me back is that in a year the apps that are coming out will be made for 3.0 making the 2.2 worthless (like as computer systems). Not that I am needing high powerful games (I have a computer for that if I want it) but keeping current might be important.

What are your thoughts?

IMO, 2.2 is not going to be worthless in a year. The majority of the android devices are still on froyo so app development for that OS will not be gone in a year. However, I wouldn't spend too much money on a froyo based tablet. Not sure what you consider important but some.of the better froyo tablets can actually fulfill some the basic user needs minus the flashy interface of a honeycomb tablet and the high prices.

The Acer is coming out this week for $450 so very reasonable price. The Archos which I was looking at was $294 but the Acer is so much better equipped
