Android 4.0 ICS Update pushed to my phone today!

It's making me download a 600+ MB file to update my phone - i still have a little under an hour download time left, what gives? Did you have to deal with this too?

my replacement lucid showed up today. booted it up...applied the v6b update...then the v7 wanted to download... awesome!

Try installing something that requires root. THIS does not ROOT Lucid on ICS> It says it did atthe end of the script when in reality it failed.

Sometimes you need to run it twice. First time I did it, it went through just fine, I had root confirmed by titanium backup and root explorer. Then I integrated the updates into rom with titanium backup which caused a security error on boot. So got it fixed with lg support tool with phone in download mode which reinstalled ICS losing root. Re ran the root tool went to titanium backup said phone not rooted. Re ran root tool again and went to titanium backup, asked for root privileges. So just use Titanium or something else that needs root to check it, if it doesn't work just run the tool over again till you get root.

I don't know where you are going wrong. Download and unzip the file Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v15 and it will work. The first time I used it it went flawlessly (you do need to wait on the very last reboot for the phone to completely finish before exiting). Now after I soft bricked with the security error (by integrating updates into rom with titanium backup, which won't run without root btw) I had to use the lg support tool and put my phone into download mode for it to reload the ICS update onto my phone. I ran the runme.bat file and it went through, I checked Titanium which wouldn't start because it wasn't rooted. I just re-ran the root tool, waited on the phone to completely reboot the second time, closed the window and ran titanium backup which asked for root privileges showing that it was rooted. here's the screen shot showing titanium running on my lucid:
