Android 4.0 source code released

After seeing the Gingerbread update for the Desire, I actually don't want to see ICS on the Desire. The major problem with this phone is its super limited internal storage (I got around 50MB free when I first got it). With the internal storage space of 512MB, I think putting ICS on it will be useless without data2sd enabled.

That's not how it works.

That 500MB is the sum of 3 partitions. Only 147 of it you Can use.

Ics aosp will nearly fit twice in HTCs generously proportioned system partition. 3 times once I'm done with it

I am indeed very glad to hear that you can put ICS into the Desire. Since I don't have any knowledge in developing custom ROMs, can I ask you the following question:
Since only 147 MB are user-accessible by default, how can you increase that amount after putting ICS in the Desire? Changing the size of the phone system partition?
Thanks for your help.

You need root and s-off. Then you can flash a custom hboot with a new partition layout. Mine (which only my Rom fits in) gives 373MB for data although to get ics that small may not quite be possible
