I guess this is a pretty simple question.. is there anyway I can upgrade my HTC EVO V 4G phone that is running Android 4.0.3 to the new Android 4.2 Jellybean OS? I'm sure it will involve rooting of some kind, but can someone maybe help me with an absolute NOOB proof step by step way to upgrade my phone to Jelly Bean 4.2, or at the very least 4.1.2? i really want to upgrade my phone to the newest Android OS, im using the VM no contract HTC EVO V 4G phone, i don't know if that matters, but I really would like to upgrade the OS, is this possible? Please help me out.. thanks a lot!

Not yet. There is not even a 4.1 ROM with everything working yet. Although I suspect that it shouldn't take much from there to get 4.2 working, as it doesn't seem like a huge change.

i asked a similar question not too long ago and people were saying i could flash my rom or something like that and add Jellybean 4.1.. any truth to that? i want to upgrade this phones OS soooo bad, but it looks like i may end up purchasing the Nexus 4 since it will have the most up to date OS already pre-installed.

You can flash a Jellybean ROM on the Evo 3D, but 4G and 3D as well as MMS will not work as of right now. The JB ROMs are still a little buggy for this phone. Nexus 4 & T-Mobile is where i'm heading, can't go wrong with 1.5GHz quad core.

This is probably the best Jelly Bean ROM at the moment. As stated above everything works except 3D, 4G, and MMS. Also, stability just isn't 100% yet.

I'm on DT based on 4.1.1. 4G works. This ROM is stable and works really well with anthrax. No 3D or MMS. I think MMS receive works if you pull the MMS.apk from paranoid android.
