Android 4.3 Update Starting Today

It should not, as an update, effect installed apps. It is doing the image that can be an issue. This of course doesn't mean some apps can have compatibility issues, as to if they would just vanish?

Then I may be a while as I got mine in December so it is probably a later serial number.................

Not sure, tanware, how closely purchase date correlates with the rollout. I got my N10 (directly from Google) only a month ago but I received the update yesterday afternoon... about 3:00 p.m. Pacific Time. Go figure! : )

Both my 7 and 10 still say up to date w/ 4.2.2 so something is very wrong. I can see one getting updated but neither?

Just checked again. System is up to date version 4.2.2. There is no update.

My thought on that could be reserved serial numbers and/or groupings as direct or wholesaled out for retail resell. I know when other start reporting updates it usually is a few days or so before I see it. Again no biggie as the crash issue really is not an issue here and I would much rather have that then early updates so no complaints here............... :)

some of us just have to wait longer than others.

Two different Nexus tablets, possibly months apart (and serial numbers too) I can see one not getting it but both sounds to me like the update exists either only for devs, Google beta testers, those who root flash, or use adb. It is taking far too long for an OTA update. I got the Play Store update the exact day it was out. But over a week to update a Nexus points to either a hardware error on my end or the update ain't out for everyone yet. Owning a Nexus should mean zero such delays.

For those who did update, is it all pastel like Play Store? If so, then I'm worried over nothing.

I am sure this is a huge update, and it will take a lot of time. It's just a matter of some patience. I have already had other updates take a few days after when others reported receiving the over the air updates.

There are millions of nexus devices out now. Nexus 4, Nexus 7, new Nexus 7; Nexus 10. It will probably take a while to get it rolled out to everyone.

I have learned to stress less about Nexus updates. I ordered two N7's (release day) last year. Literally, got late shipping because Google fulfilled the single orders before the ones where they had to put to in a box.

When 4.2 came out, I had the notification on mine within something like an hour of it being released. My son's N7, that came in the same box, didn't get the update for another week. There are a ton of these devices out there and only so many servers pushing updates. Sometimes you have to wait.

There's one difference I really like. Now we can monitor whether or not the apps we've downloaded are using the permissions we granted and, if we want to, take them away.

This may be nothing new for those of us who have rooted our devices, I don't know. But for those of us who haven't and are concerned about privacy and the security of our device, it's a welcome change.

Still nothing. Both my devices say they're up to date, with version 4.2.2

Tried rebooting, clearing data for Play, endlessly checking for updates manually, I must have two faulty devices. The little pulse LED in my 10 has already failed. I guess I will have to root and manually update it. A shame as I was really hoping that having a Nexus would make that completely unnecessary

If you haven't gotten the OTA yet try this.

Go to settings > apps > all. Scroll down to Google Services Framework. Force stop and clear data then check for update. If it doesn't work the first time try 5 more times. This has worked for some people.

I do have pulse enabled, the light simply stopped working and no app I install to either test it or work around an Android issue seems to fix it. But hardware issues could explain the lack of updates.

I have tried that trick to no avail. All it did was make Play refuse to download or update anything and force me to remove and then readd my Google account to it. Then the update checker says the last update check was 12/31/1969. Then when I check again it again says up to date with the correct date and time but showing version 4.2.2

Either both my Nexii are faulty or this update is a flat out scam and all of you just flashed it manually.

It will get to me as it gets to me, it is just a matter of time. On that note as I'm typing on the PC it is here now............... :)

Edit; 160.3 mb download here.........

y'all are playing with me. still claims up to date with 4.2.2

if i have to root/flash it manually what is the point in having a Nexus? sure doesn't update like it should.

No one is playing with you.:)

I just checked my son's N7 (yeah, check my avatar, him). No update yet. It takes a while to get it rolled out to all the Nexii. Is your's affiliated with a carrier? That could delay it further. Seriously, don't ask me about Verizon and Nexus updates.

Just be patient, splash in the water with some buds here while you wait, and stay cool. You will be rocking 4.3 soon enough.

It's no scam. But your update checker logging in a date from the '60s has got me a little spooked. I mean what if we like flashed and ended up flashing back? Maybe none of us really has 4.3 and we just think we do and none of this is real. Whoa... you're freakin' me out, man.

That's the normal thing when you clear data for Google Services Framework is the timewarp to 1969.:D

All too true, it can take a while. As mentioned if carrier affiliated it could be MUCH longer.

That is a big time super megapixel camera to snapped that with. Nice granite counter BTW:p

Oh, and congrats on the update.:)
