Is there a good guide someplace that explains what each of these apps does?

About 70% of the list is needed. The other 30% or so can just be ignored and should have no impact on battery or performance unless used. If battery life seems short check Settings > Battery to see what's using power. If the unit is laggy install System Panel
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nextapp.systempanel
...or a similar app to see if something is hogging CPU cycles.

But basically, if the tablet works well, then don't worry, be happy. Relax and enjoy your device.

One of the things I have found with this so called "Bloat Ware" is that it is very dependant on what you use and don't use. For instance my carrier when I had service had a bunch of apps on my phone that I would never use to me these were bloat however I knew some others who did use them and found them very useful.

As Crash has pointed out most of the apps you have are tied into android and are a part of the android system.

The only way to really get rid of installed bloatware is to root the device and then use a program like Titanium Backup to backup and remove the unwanted software. I highly recommend before removing anything that you first freeze said app and make sure it will not cause major issues. If it does not then you can feel safe to remove the app.

It is also a question of what you are trying to solve.

If the objective is just to make it disappear so you don't have to constantly look at it ... consider Nova Launcher Prime. You can hide apps you don't want to look at in the app drawer or create a section in the app drawer, move them all to it, and only open that section when you really want to access one of them.

Can also 'disable' them to make the shortcuts vanish on stock, and if you later decide you need them, simply reactivate them.

Hi there, tre1000. Welcome to Android Forums. :)

If you let us know which tablet you're using we can move this thread to its board. It's possible that fellow owners might know more specifically what you can and can't delete without problems.

I think a many of them are core Android components, There's the Google stuff there as well, you can certainly remove/disable things like Picassa Uploader if you're not using those services. Some of them are self explanatory and third party, and can be removed or disabled quite safely, like QuickOffice. Also screensavers and wallpapers is obvious.
For the unknown Chinese one, post a screenshot, I can translate it, presumably this is a Chinese device. There's certainly no real crapware like NFL or NASCAR in there, that often come with phones in the US.
