Android 4.4 Kit Kat (Which Phones)

My phone isn't on the list to get Kit Kat, but then I'm not really excited about it, like I was with Jelly Bean (which was a vast improvement over the ICS for my phone).

It would be great if manufacturers release KitKat for some of their popular older phones, not just the flagships.

i'd like to see some older phones get it. for the life of me i don't understand why google made it a point to say that older less ram phones could run it, when they have no intention of even giving it to its own older nexus devices.

i have a gnex, and i'm out of luck unless xda comes up with something. i am not a custom rom guy, but i guess i'll have to go there when the time comes.

Be nice if manufacturers did updates for all their phones that are capable of running the rom, that's from a security point of view.
In reality that would never happen, but it would be more feasible perhaps to support the more expensive phones for at least a full 2 years or as long as the contracts last.

I have the N4 and MotoX and I really like them both. Screens are large yet still able to operate one handed. I'm sure Moto X is an obvious candidate for a quick update since they're a Google company now. On a side note...people complaining about the look and feel of KitKat... You obviously don't remember or never used cupcake, donut, eclair or froyo lol. Android is becoming refined and KitKat is the "Google Experience".

Got it already :D on a SAMSUNG!

That's because you have the i9300, which gets far more love than the lowly i535 (which has even less than the AT&T variant, especially if you're the unlucky black sheep who had the VBRMF1 update from VZW that kills most ROMs). I just checked GooManager again and only a few choices are there. all of the newest are 4.1 or 4.2, and the rest are 4.0.1. sucks to have an i535.

Lol Nick yeah i saw you crying on G+ earlyier mate :p
The i9300 gets less love than most of the US variants because of (i think) the language barrier AND the fact that we have Samsung chipset.
Look at one of my best g+ buds Geoff Whitely, he's on US Cellular and that gets more love than the i9300 in the way of custom roms.
That community we were chattin on earlier is a group of (i think) three guys just porting builds to the i9300, aparently its relatively easy to do.
There MUST be people like that doin the same for your model bro?
P.s, dont mess with Goo.im/goo manager. Half the time its servers are down and all the time its either out dated or lets you download roms for the wrong phone.
What you wana find is a lil dev team porting PA or CM or whatever to your phone

So we've established youre on a d2vsw (code) phone which even Cyanogen build for so theres no reason for you not to be in the kit kat klan lol :D

I'm in KitKat land now, but i needed to use my Mac to download and Drive to transfer it. it wouldn't download period on my phone, but either way it's there. i wasn't aware the Google Experience Launcher was supported on the GS3 though, it came installed out of box, first thing i saw after the 'Android is Upgrading' dialog finished what it was doing. i think i downloaded CM11 or some variant of it, says 'CyanogenMod' when booting up.
