Android 5.1 Factory Image for Nexus 2012 is here!

I used Wugs Toolkit to install 5.1. As soon as I opened up Wugs it updated. 5.1 was in the pulldown to flash...

Manually flashed this morning :)
I had just a tad bit of trouble as the bootloader didn't write but then I switched off to wugs tookkit and finish it up ;)
my tablet running 5.1 beats the heck out of my tablet running 5.0.2.......
Thank you Google :)

I'd say sometime this week hopefully. If not probably next week at the greatest barring any bug that might show their faces....
So far so good :)

When do we think this will be available as an OTA update? (approx time frame based on when they roll out after they're released)
N7 2012 (Wifi) OTA is already rolling: http://android.clients.google.com/p...signed-nakasi-LMY47D-from-LRX22G.9f163586.zip

Note: that's for upgrading from LRX22G (Android 5.0.2) - it won't work if you're not on that specific build.

Android Police has some instructions on how to sideload that OTA if you don't want to wait: http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/1...e-nexus-7-now-manual-download-link-available/

"Benchmarks are useless..."

but that's a pretty solid improvement on the Multitasking portion of the test. Does real-world usage indicate a significant improvement when multitasking?

In all honesty, from switching off between both tablets doing my normal web browsing I don't notice a Huge difference. Mostly the 5.1 tablet just lacks some of the little bugs (like when I close Chrome on the 5.0.2 tablet it's multitask box takes up the whole screen but that seems to have been fixed on 5.1). it's the little things like that but I've noticed so far.

Something I should add
I have a habit of closing out an app as soon as I'm done with it (kinda like popping bubble wrap - its satisfying to swipe them away ;) ) instead of letting them build up in recent apps.
This plus being minimalistic when it comes to downloaded apps might be why my N7's never really suffered that much during 5.0.2 - other than the bug's.
5.1 is definitely snappy though & a welcome update :)
