Android 5.1 - Home Screen Configuration Locked

I am currently working on an Android Box. It is a Q-Box with Lollipop 5.1 on it.
The supplier that I purchased it from installed a Home Launcher called swin8launcher.
From what I can gather is that it is an in house custom home launcher that they have installed on the Android box. The home Launcher looks great in my opinion, but it would seem as though they have the configure options disabled completely. I am unable to enter any kind of "settings" to modify the buttons on the Home Screen. It would appear as though the box has been rooted, which is why I am posting this in here.

I am inquiring if there is a simple script somewhere that I can change that would enable the "change" features on this launcher. I mean they had to of configured those buttons with settings some how and I suspect that they just went in and added the various buttons and then locked it down. The main reason why I am asking is I am going to strip out all of the third party junk they have installed on the device which will make the majority of these buttons useless. Specifically the Kodi button in particular. When I take off the preinstalled Kodi and install the latest version, the Kodi button is no longer functional.

So my hope is that I can easily re-enable the modify functionality of this launcher and change it around to what I want. Fingers crossed someone can shed some light.

Also it would appear as though the system default launcher has been removed so I cannot change the launcher without first downloading a new one. So ultimately the end game is if I cant change the configuration files to do what I want. Plan B would be to download a Launcher that looks as close to this as possible.

Thanks in advance for anyone that can point me in the right direction.

Here is an example of what it looks like in case anyone was wanting to do some research on it.
I did get a response from the seller and he said that they come that way right from the manufacturer.
But who on earth would manufacture an Android box that you cannot customize a single aspect of the home screen?
And furthermore, who even makes these boxes? I have searched everywhere and I cannot find for the life of me the actual manufacturer for the box itself to send them an inquiry on it!

Thanks for the help. I should have updated this thread sooner as it can be closed.
Unfortunately there is no resolution. I originally thought it was the distributors that bought the box from the company, went and made changes and customized it like most companies that sell these boxes do. But that is not the case. It is the actual manufacturer of the box that made this change and locked down the home launcher. They also removed the stock lollipop 5.1 home launcher as well. The coding that locks everything down is literally in the APK file.

I have a basic understanding of coding, but as for actually writing the code for a home launcher is WAY above my comprehension lol. So needless to say the only resolution is to go out and download an install a third party home launcher program and that will reset the home settings and let you make changes.

It is a shame really because I help a lot of friends and family with Android boxes and I was really impressed with the interface cause it made it so easy to navigate, while hiding the stuff that could get them into trouble lol.

I ended up choosing TVLauncher3 as the new home launcher. It is quite similar to the one that was originally on the box.

I to ran into the same issue trying to locate information on this box.
I found it on Amazon and the price was great. Outside of the home screen thing. This box is really fast for just having a S905 chip in it. I am hoping once I get this pain in the behind resolved. I can start to enjoy using it and get a real fell for it. Up till now the MXP Pro was my go to cheap Android box for people on a budget. But this one is not much more and it is just blowing the MXP Pro out of the water in performance.

Personal note, thank you Scary Alien for the reach out. Was appreciated that you looked it up and tried to help. Much thanks!

Just got the same box. Downloaded the KingRoot apk and gave it a shot. Software was unfamiliar with device but there is an option to try anyway.
It worked.
Bootloader unlocked and box rooted.
Was able to update aps via play store which is more than most cheap, Chinese KODI boxes can do.
I was even able update the version of KODI (from 20150930 to what the native app says is current 20160608).
$58 bucks from Amazon and impressed thus far.
