Welcome to AF! :)

Hmm, I'm pretty sure a factory reset will put your settings back to square one and get it resolved...but let me first ask, did you happen to have had USB debugging enabled on your device (most folks don't, but if you do, there might be a way to get you fixed-up)?

Ah, that's reset button is likely just a power reset versus a software reset from the recovery menu.

It's very unlikely that someone would have enabled USB debugging, but I had to ask.

Not sure what key combinations you would have to use to get to the stock recovery to do a factory reset, but if you find that (or another member who replies here), be aware that this will remove your app and settings--basically resetting things to like how you had it when you first purchased it (that process does not re-install software, though).

Here's a somewhat blurry / not-very-well-focused video showing (I believe) how to do a factory reset:

Again, be aware that this will likely wipe your device.

there is no sound so i do not know what they are doing

I was hoping you'd be able to correlate the button pushes that the video demonstrates.

It does look like it takes you to the stock recovery screen and there should be an option displayed there that says "factory reset" or "factory data reset" or something similar.

The (blurry) screen where he scrolls down to a menu choice about 3/4 down the screen is very likely the confirmation option do to the factory reset since that's something they don't want you to accidentally do (i.e., it takes a very deliberate choice to get there).
