Root Android Bootloader Interface, is ok on my phone?

I tired to "open my phone" (root) last week, and it failed. I'm on Andriod 2.2 with software 3.30.651.3. I tried to do the the unevoked method, but I guess it doesn't work for my phone yet? Im new to this forum, and I have rooted a wii and psp, so this seemed easier, or so I thought. Anyways, before i did the unevoked method I had to install the "Android Bootloader Interface" I did that but since the root failed, does it matter if I have the Andriod Bootloader Interface on my EVO 4G? Should I switch back to Andriod 1.0? Can I switch back?

Did you follow the steps at the very beginning to check your hboot version? Just because you have 3.30 doesn't mean it's not rootable. Having hboot 2.02 or up (which is more than likely the case with 3.30) means you cannot root with unrevoked. Since you didn't get root, I'm sure that's the case, but you should verify anyway.

2) All you did was install the hboot driver. It doesn't matter if you leave it there. It's on your pc, not your phone, anyway.

It is more complicated than unrevoked, and I do not recomment trying it unless you understand each step. The unrevoked team is currently working on an update, so waiting is probably your best bet.
